Great for people living in the areas covered, but not much use out here in the country where chargers are 100+km apart. If one is out of action, as they can be for weeks on end, it can make EV travel quite challenging if you don't have a vehicle with reasonably long range, and know in advance of the out of action charger.

convenient and visible charging infrastructure

The lack of visibility is a big disincentive to people making the change to an EV, they just do not know there are chargers around. We've had comments from people wondering how we travel because "there aren't any chargers around".  They are around, but not really visible unless you come across them by chance, or have an app to show them, which most ICE vehicle drivers do not have. If the new kerbside chargers have signs indicating where to find them from some distance away in the surrounding area, it will be useful in accelerating the electrification of personal transport.

Fortunately we can do quite a bit of our charging at home, but do rely on public chargers when traveling. We usually desire reasonably fast charging, ie 50kW or more, to avoid adding hours, or a day with extra accommodation expense, to a trip.

Absolutely, for the very reasons mentioned in the article.
