If you had a classic car and a bit of money spare, would you be tempted to convert it to electric?
Converting a classic car to electric power could reduce maintenance, extend its life and make it safer – and it’s becoming increasingly popular.
It’s not exactly small change, but with the conversion industry still in its infancy, we can expect prices to fall in the coming years. When you consider that you’re increasing your classic car’s longevity and lowering its maintenance costs – perhaps it’s a fair price to pay to preserve a piece of driving history?
Keep in mind each conversion is unique and needs to follow the National Code of Practice for Light Vehicle Construction and Modification, and be signed-off by an approved engineer too.

With all the problems the local environmentalists are trying to cause for Tesla in Berlin-Brandenburg, I wonder about converting a Trabant to EV, as a gag project. But I don't live there, so meh. Maybe someone over there will someday.

I'm sure one day that they'll have an EV converted Street Machine publication!
In the meantime can someone tell me when will they be stopping the use of petrol around the world and Mad Max takes over!
Anyway, going forward the existing mechanics will need to do something to stay in business as the balance of power swings over to EVs. I'm sure converting ICE to EV could see many classics turn over a new leaf for the rich and famous.
Will be interesting to see in the future which EVs will be the new classic cars!
